A Woman Is Whole, Phenomenal, With Or Without Children, Marriage – Whitney Boakye Mensah Writes |

14 years ago, I remember receiving a call from someone who is the wife of a friend, that she needed to talk to me, thinking it was a very urgent matter, I drove all the way to Dansoman after work

The meeting was the fact that, since she had twins, she had been praying for me, and that, all I cared about was dressing up, wearing high heels(I still do😅), and always snuggled up to hubby even in public, and that she had info on how his folks will soon find him a woman to have kids with

O!! She could help by taking me to her church, where the spirits of my parents, and hubby’s parents would be called, and asked why we could not have kids. Then some libation and sacrifices would be done on our behalf,so we have children…..

Infact she gave me the whole list I needed for the ceremony, and we were to go to the sea at 12midnight, how that is what aided her to have twins, and is secured forever,

The conversations you never forget, because of gut wrenching they are

I was healing from a recent miscarriage, she knew I had previously had two still births, but as far as she was concerned, I was not woman enough, because I was not a mother…….someone who on any ordinary day, would not dare talk to me, felt she had the right, because society does not see me whole

I thanked her,and left, forgot I even drove there, and walked all the way to 1st Light, before I remembered, asking why especially we as women, can be so cruel to each other, and how we measure a woman’s existence and success by her womb or marital status…

A woman is whole, phenomenal, with or without children, marriage etc, she’s always been, and we need to unlearn our prejudices . Thanks to @impactwithdj for such conversations.
