A video purporting to be footage of a “real life dragon,” allegedly “caught” in the wild, has been doing the rounds on Twitter – and not for the first time.
The present iteration of the viral video has picked up more than 160K likes on Twitter. Daily Loud shared it and encouraged their followers to “decide” if the supposed “dragon” is real or fake.

On Reddit, people have already started joking that it’s the body of Arrax, Lucerys Velaryon’s late dragon from House Of The Dragon.

No. Dragons – at least, dragons with long necks and long tails and wings – don’t exist in real life. But even with its unreality established, a question remains.
It might not be a “real dragon,” but it is a real animal? Strange animals have washed up on beaches before, prompting confusion.
One Reddit user suggested, perhaps sarcastically, that the video actually shows a “bear with mange.” They might not be serious, but they’re giving voice to a natural human instinct: to explain unusual phenomena using references that are familiar to us.

It may surprise some readers to know that the “dragon” supposedly “caught,” or according to one version of events “found,” in Mongolia was neither caught nor found. It was placed.

Mongolian ‘dragon’ is actually the work of a group of Spanish sculptors
In a video titled Creating a Dragon for Cuarto Milenio (original Spanish: Creando un Dragón para Cuarto Milenio), Spanish artist Juan Villa Herrero documents how he and his team created a large dragon as a prop for a film studio.
Cuarto Milenio, which translates to Fourth Millennium, is a long-running documentary series in Spain. It’s been on television since 2005, and features co-host journalists Iker Jiménez and Carmen Porter in their search for evidence of supernatural activity.
Its subjects include claimed UFO sightings, the pyramids at Giza, and the Tunguska event of 1908.
The video that documents the creation of the dragon prop was uploaded by Herrero, whose Instagram bio includes links to the profile of Cuarto Milenio journalist Iker Jiménez and a permanent exhibition at a “magical” castle in Valladolid, in northern Spain.
