Ex-President John Mahama To Address Ghanaians Coming Thursday.

Ghana is at a crossroads right now, and many people are unsure about how things will turn around. Ghana has not been exempted from the economic troubles that have gripped the rest of the world. Despite the circumstances worldwide, many are affected by Covid-19 and Russia-Ukraine war. Had the Akufo-Addo administration not handled the economy poorly, the Russian War would have not been their supposed cause of the economic downturns of Ghana today.

The administration has maintained that external factors are to blame for Ghana’s economic woes. They have even gone so far as to attribute the crumbling economy to the previous John Mahama regime. Well, a lot of people have been urging President Akufo-Addo to speak to the nation about the weakening cedi and the high cost of living. Yet this hasn’t happened with the president rather taking a tour across the country.

This week, former president John Mahama is expected to address the nation. Concerns regarding Ghana’s economy and the exceptional challenges Ghanaians are experiencing are addressed in the speech. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, a John Mahama assistant and former Deputy Communications Minister under the previous NDC administration, made this information public.

On October 27, 2022, at 7 p.m., the address is scheduled to take place. Hearing what the previous president has to say will be intriguing. The former president has come under fire for damaging the economy during his administration. In reality, the NDC’s detractors contend that the group also represented Ghana before the IMF and as a result lacks the authority to criticize the current President.

Some claim that John Mahama has declined on numerous occasions to offer remedies to Ghana’s economic problems, instead making matters worse for Ghanaians. Is John Mahama actually going to offer suggestions to improve the economy this time, or is he merely using the crisis to his advantage so he can win the presidency in 2024?
