Spare Ghana This Prolonged Spectacle Of ‘Failure’ And Please Resign – Nana Aba Anamoah Speaks Out

The Ghanaian cedi keeps depreciating each passing day with no sight of recovery. This month alone the cedi has depreciated by a huge margin against the dollar making Ghanaians to begin to ask questions as to what is happening. The rise of the dollar means that traders have to spend more when buying goods from abroad. Since this week the cedi has been depreciating by almost a cedi every day and the economic experts in the country looking helpless.

Well, many have called on Ken Ofori Atta to resign for looking on as the cedi depreciates and the economy tumbles. Some have said that the Finance Minister wanted to resign but Akufo-Addo has told him to hold on. This wouldn’t be surprising because on different interviews, Akufo-Addo has insisted that he feel Ofori Atta is the best hand for the job.

Nana Aba Anamoah, journalist has sent a passionate appeal to Ken Ofori Atta to resign because all isn’t well. According to her life has become unbearable for herself and Ghanaian business who she argues have been left broken by the economic hardships and cedi depreciation in the country. Nana spoke about how he believed in the government and Ofori Atta when he had encouraged Ghanaians in 2017 that he will transform the economy.

Nana Aba adds that 6 years now and it seems the economy is in tumble. Though she sympathized with the minister because of economic happenings in the world she boldly stated that the extravagant borrowing and misappropriation of funds have left the country in turmoil economically. She called on Ofori Atta to resign and forget his uncle’s Akufo-Addo’s pleas for him to stay.

It will be interesting to see if Ken Ofori Atta continues to hold on to the burning rod. It is uncertain when the IMF bailout will come but it is obvious that something urgent is needed. Should Ken resign?
