Retract Your Words, A Leader Does Not Speak Like That [OPINION]

Few days ago, the current President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo made a ‘huge’ statement at Otec FM.

During the interview with the host of the programme on Otec FM, the host disclosed to the current President what the people of Kumasi and its environ are telling him to tell Mr. President.

The people were fully angry at the current situation of the country after President Akufo Addo desperately pleaded for their votes in the Akan Language, “Mon so me nhy3”. This literally means that the President Akufo Addo was telling the people to try him and see how he can change the situation of the country.

Akufo Addo replied to the host and the people of Kumasi with a cheeky and unrespectful answer. In his words he said “If you won’t vote for me don’t vote”.

How can someone who cried for help and after helping the person he comes back at you , I mean who does that? This answer angered the people of Kumasi.

In my popular popular opinion, I think the president should retract his statement and plead to the people and the nation. A leader does not talk like that.

What do you think about what the president said, was it right for him to say those words? Drop your comments below.
