On Saturday,15th October 2022, Onua TV hostess Mona Gucci interviewed Reggie Rockstone.
The show was dedicated to celebrating Reggie Rockstone, the originator of hiplife. Reggie Rockstone explained how he created hiplife.
“It is a misconception that rap did not come from Africa. All the great rappers are blacks and so it was easy for me to originate hiplife. The talent was already with me and so I moved with the concept”.
When Reggie Rockstone was asked if he belonged to a rich family, his explanation was an interesting one.
“My father supported the origination of hiplife. He did not live long to see how hiplife has blossomed but he played his part. He had a wonderful fashion sense and so I took after that”.
” My music always come with some creative concepts and so that is why I won an award with my fakye song. My woman cheated with my best friend and so I made a song from that situation”.
“That music video won me an award. I went on to design the concepts of other videos and they all did well”.
Reggie Rockstone explained that he was ready to help any upcoming musician. He explained that he loves music and has dedicated himself to his passion.
