Pastor Turns Man into A Guinea Pig – Gets Three Jabs & His Blood Sample Taken By Fake Doctor

The police have given stomach-wrenching details about how a man was made a guinea pig – given three jabs in the shoulder, had his blood sample taken from his blood vessel for test and some restricted drugs prescribed for him by an incredibly foolhardy self-styled specialist surgical gynecologist, Daniel Yartey.

This counterfeit medical doctor had gone to present himself to the congregation of the Voice of the Lord Evangelical Church in Koforidua, the Eastern Region, as a high-flying surgeon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital’s Surgical Department and offered free treatment of the sick in the church.

Some of them after receiving injections and taking drugs prescribed for them by Yartey developed serious complications and that heightened the suspicion of the head pastor, Benjamin Anom, that he might not be a genuine medical doctor.

He looked for a business card this self-acclaimed surgeon had left with the church and traced him to Pokuase, a suburb of Accra, where Yartey has been operating a pharmacy.

The pastor went with one Desmond Amoa and told the fake doctor that Amoa was unwell and they were there to get treatment for him.

He diagnosed him of stomach ulcer, gave him three jabs in the shoulder, took his blood sample, prescribed some restricted drugs on a fake Korle-Bu Teaching Hospitals prescription form, stamped it with the referral facility’s faked stamp, supplied the drugs from his pharmacy and took a medical fee of Ghs380.00.

The pastor who had done his checks and had satisfied himself that Yartey is not a medical doctor had secretly made a video recording of everything that happened, headed straight to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council and a formal report was subsequently filed with the police by the Council, leading to Yartey’s arrest.

He has already appeared before an Accra Circuit Court to answer criminal charges.

The court presided over by Rosemary Baah Tosu has ordered that he should be held in police custody. He will make his next appearance on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
