President Akufo-Addo Must Resign – Odike

Nullify banishment before I can come and apologise - Odike to Kumasi Traditional Council - MyJoyOnline.com

Founder and Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Akwasi Addai Odike has called for the resignation of Akufo-Addo as President of the Republic of Ghana.

This is because of the President’s failure to end illegal mining, alias Galamsay, in Ghana, according to Mr Odike.

He says President Akufo-Addo has woefully lost the battle against illegal mining after putting his presidency on the line to end the same.

“The situation is becoming dire by the day and galamsay has fought him, Akufo-Addo”, he said.

“He must leave office for somebody who can do the job. He has failed the battle against galamsay, it is clear. He has lost it. He put his presidency on the line and if he is honest to the people and has conscience to protect, he must resign honourable”, he told Accra-based Joy News on Monday, October 10, 2022.

Mr Odike says President Akufo-Addo is going about saying that he wants to fight galamsay yet he has failed to invite key stakeholders and experts to come help him end the menace.

“Nana Addo has not extended an invitation to anybody. He claims that he can solve it that is why he put his presidency on the line. Had it been that he has extended an invitation to all of us (Stakeholders, experts and technocrats) to come and join”, added.

“I was expecting that in the Kumasi forum, there should have been experts that can bring on board divergent ideas to deal with the matter but he brought the chiefs and the government that we are blaming that they are part of it together. How can we resolve this issue?” He quizzed.
