Captain Smart, a well-known controversial TV and radio broadcaster, makes a valid point to a particular chief in Ghana live on his regular Onua TV morning show, “maakye.” Captain Smart claims that he is the only chief who forbade illicit mining in his territory in order to prevent the destruction of both his own land and the entire region.
“I have to congratulate one chief among the few in Ghana who has been bold enough to stand against illegal mining popularly known as ‘ galamsey’ in his area.”
“I am speaking of the chief of ‘Dormaa’ whose name is Osaagyefo Agyemang Badu in the Bono Ahafo region also known as Dormaahene.”
“This chief(Osaagyefo Agyemang Badu) has been able to stand against illegal mining in his area and there is nothing of such sort over there. You(‘Dormaahene’) are indisputably the wisest chief ever not to allow NPP’s ‘galamsey’ in your area’, Captain Smart tells Chief of Dormaa.”
