Patricia Asiedua popular known as Nana Agradaa and now Evangelist mama Pat of Heaven Way Church appeared in court today following scam allegations leveled against her over the weekend.
She was arrested during the weekend over the said allegations and arraigned in court today, Monday 10th October 2022. Before proceeding could commence, Nana Agradaa rejected her name. When the case was called and the court clerk mentioned her name as Patricia Asiedua, Nana Agradaa rejected the name.
She got into the witness box and told the court her name was not Patricia Asiedua. When asked what then was her name? She responded Reverend Doctor Patricia Oduro Asiedua. She insisted she must be addressed as Reverend Doctor. She further asked the court to add same titles to her name on the court documents else she is not the one they are referring to.
After that initial impasse, the court proceeded to read the charges leveled against her. She was charged with two major counts of defrauding by false pretense and charlatanic advertisements (the adverts on TV and other media platforms claiming she was to share GH¢300,000 or 3 billion old cedis as she prefers to use). The charges were further broken down into seven charges as there are currently seven complainants in the case.
Nana Agradaa…, oh sorry…, Rev. Dr. Patricia Oduro Asiedua pleaded not guilty to all the charges. She told the court the was absolutely no truth in the charges brought against her.
The complainants in the case are Yaa Bremah a trader from Kumasi Tafo, Emmanuel Kumi from Ashiaman, George Boateng from Obuasi, Grace Forson a hairdresser from Sweduro, Mary Arthur a farmer from Takoradi, and Patricia Ankama from Sunyani.
Her lawyers failed to secure bail for her and she has been remanded into police custody to reappear before the court on the 16th of October 2022. She came out of the court singing a gospel song on top of her voice with some of her supporters backing her to sing while she was being carried away by the police.
