Recently, social media was set ablaze by a video of an old man seriously beating a young child with a coconut broom. Many people extremely condemned what the man was doing to the innocent child. Even Ghana Police Service released a letter seeking to arrest the man.
Following that, many people have been asking what crime did the child commit to warrant such a beating from the man.
For those asking about the crime of the kid, this is what I picked up from Kwasi Osei-Danso Ofori-Atta’s wall;
“I learnt his mother died when giving birth to him, and he’s been subjected to kicks, severe beatings and starvation ever since
He was allegedly trying to stand up with the support of a chair that the father had kept sachet water on, but he lost balance and the water fell. That was the toddler’s “crime”.
In the new video, the child looks sad. Some people believe that the biggest culprit is the one that had the energy to videotape the entire episode. Others also believe that the one who video it must be recommended and not condemned.
