Check Out The Mouthwatering Prizes For The First Three Finalists Of NSMQ 2022

The most watched educational competition is back. Since its inception the National Science and Maths Quiz has risen to become one of the most entertaining inter school competitions. Last year saw PRESEC, Legon going face to face with Prempeh College and Keta SHTS. Prempeh College eventually emerged as the winner after surviving a scary end to the competition.

This year’s competition promises to be even better with the preliminaries starting on Monday. Most of the schools have started arriving at the Kwame Nkrumah Science and Technology university. The preliminaries will last for 4 days and will see the winners of the various contests qualifying for the knockout stages.

Some of the power houses many will be hoping to do well include Achimota School, St. Peters, St. Augustine’s, Labone, Mfantsipim among others. One interesting thing about this year’s competition is the juicy prizes that comes along with reaching the semi-finals. All 6 semi-finalists who fail to qualify for the finals will each get 8,000 cedis in total. This is divided into 3,000 cedis for the schools, 25000 for the students and 2,500 for the teachers.

The 3rd placed team will take home 15,000 cedis with 10,000 cedis for the students and 10,000 for the teachers. This puts the total to 35,000 cedis. The second placed team will win 50,000 cedis which will be shared in the school getting 20,000, 15,000 for the students and 15,000 for the teachers. The winners of the competition will take home a whopping 70,000 cedis. they will be shared as 30,000 to the winning school, 20,000 to the students and another 20,000 cedis to the teachers.

All eyes will be on Prempeh College to see if they can reclaim the title that they won last year. We can also expect some tough contests from PRESEC, Legon, Opoku Ware and Mfantsipim. Who are you expecting to win?
