A young Ghanaian lady has recorded herself on camera complaining about the hardship in Accra, and many social media users after coming across this video couldn’t keep mute over it. According to her, she is from Agona Swedru in the Central Region but traveled to Accra to make money to support her family. After working for so many years, she has realized that life in her hometown will be better than life in Accra.
This is because she has been using most of her income to pay rent every year. However, her family are having a lot of houses back in Agona Swedru. If it were to be Agona Swedru, she wouldn’t have paid any rent but here in Accra, the amount taken as rent by landlords is killing her. She is contemplating whether to leave Accra and go and work in her home or stay and see what the Lord will do for her.
This is what the young lady said in the video, “I came to Accra to work so that I could support my family, but I’m using all of this income to pay my rent. The worse part of the situation is that all this money you are seeing is a loan I took from the bank to pay my rent. This loan comes with huge interest but I don’t have a choice. I’m a lady from Agona Swedru and I promised my parents that I am going to work hard in Accra to support them. I’m now contemplating whether I should leave Accra and go live my normal life in Swedru. Life in Accra is difficult”.
Some people living in Accra after coming across this video said that she is not the only person facing this kind of trouble. The truth of the matter is that renting rooms in Accra is extremely expensive.
