Can Government Escape This Trouble from Teacher Unions This Time? Read full story

The University Teachers Association of Ghana popular known as UTAG has threatened to embark on the second phase of their just ended strike if government refuse to respond to their demands quickly.

In an exclusive interview with the President Dr Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi, UCC UTAG Chapter said that they called off their earlier strike in March because they came into a Memoranda of Understanding with the government to pay them book and research allowance by September, 2022. However, the Memoranda of Understanding has been breached by the government since the government has decided not to honor it part of the MoU.

He therefore added that after several engagement with stakeholders UTAG has given the government a one week ultimatum to settle it’s part of the MoU or they will embark on another strike which will be worse than the one in January to March.

Government has been adamant after all these attempts by UTAG to draw it’s attention to their appeal. This now brought the question will government be able to escape or find a solution to this teachers should incase they embark on this strike? Drop your comments
