Massive Reactions As TV3 Ghana Drops This Picture Of Professor John Gatsi

Readers can recall that the Finance Minister has stated that Ghana is making progress in the Gross domestic product growth rate.

In the statement of the Finance Minister, ” the progress in the country’s GDP growth rate gives the government a solid foundation to confront the challenges ahead”.

Richard Ahiagbah, The New Patriotic Party’s communications Director has explained that the government is restoring the economy to benefit all Ghanaians. He also emphasised that “the GDP growth rate should be applied”.

On Thursday, 29th September 2022, TV3 Ghana posted a picture of Professor John Gatsi on its social media platform.

Interestingly, the Dean of the University of Cape Coast School Of Business, Professor John Gatsi has disagreed with the government’s position about the rising GDP growth rate.

Professor John Gatsi explained that GDP growth does not impact much in the scheme of things. Does that mean the change in the indicator is nothing to describe as an achievement?

Is the Professor indirectly indicating that the problems of the country go beyond the GDP growth rate?

Many Ghanaians have reacted to the public conversation. Whilst some Ghanaians have applauded the government for the GDP growth rate, other citizens have passed interesting remarks.

What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion? Do you agree with Professor John Gatsi? Should the government go to him for some lectures?
