Ghanaians Massively React As TV3 Ghana Drops This Picture Of Akwasi Fordjour

TV3 has reported about why the fight against the galamsey should not be taken for granted. The Media station posted the picture of Akwasi Fordjour on its heavily followed social media platform.

In an interview with Akwasi Fordjour, a father of 6 children who has been farming for 20 years, a lot has been revealed to the good people of Ghana.

According to Akwasi Fordjour, he has built a two-bedroom apartment by selling part of his farmland to galamsey operators.

” I would not have been able to build the two-bedroom house if it only had to do with my cocoa farming. Now I have a lot of money and gold. I can buy anything I want. I can even decide not to do the farming but I would be able to take care of my children”.

” If I want to cut down all my cocoa trees for them to use the land for mining, can the government stop me from cutting the trees that I planted on my land?”

“How much could I have sold my cocoa? Can anyone dictate what I should do with my land? Am I part of the planting for food program? What have a government done to improve my life?”

Well, it is interesting how Akwasi Fordjour defended his decision of selling parts of his farm to the galamsey operators. He does not see anything wrong with his action. What can government do to stop the galamsey?

Do the communities know the negative side effects of galamsey or illegal mining? Do they know that the mining chemicals are poisonous to their crops?

Do all Ghanaians know the health implications of the galamsey?

Many Ghanaians have reacted to TV3 Ghana’s post as they have passed interesting remarks to the ongoing discussion.
