Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, running mate of John Mahama in the 2020 elections today, Tuesday, September 27, 2022 granted an interview to Emmanuel Quarshie on Accra FM. The duo discussed a number of issues regarding the education system. According to Prof. Jane the education system currently is nothing to be compared with what the NDC left behind. She mentioned that the NPP have played politics.
According to the host, many teacher trainees are now begging her and the NDC to come back to power. According to the former minister, the NDC never cancelled teacher trainees’ allowances as the NPP said. She noted that the NDC rather replaced the teachers’ allowances with student loans. According to her she is amazed that some young teacher trainees could say that she cancelled the allowances.
“I want any student to call me that they were refused from getting their allowance. I want someone to call into the show and say they were refused loans. It has been 6 years now. They know we never canceled their allowances. We never refused them loans. They know it. I Am surprised such young ones can lie against elderly people” Prof Opoku Agyemang said.
When asked if he will accept the apology from these teacher trainees who accused her and the NDC falsely, she mentioned that she has nothing to forgive because now everyone knows the truth and she is glad that they have found out the truth.
