Black Stars skipper Dede Ayew has equalled Asamoah Gyan’s records on the number of appearance made for Ghana. The two players have all played 109 games for Ghana.
Prior to today’s international friendly against Nicaragua, Dede Ayew was on 108 appearances for Ghana while former skipper Asamoah Gyan was on 109 appearances. Ahead of today’s game, it was reported that Dede Ayew will start to be able to set his record.
Meanwhile, coach Otto Addo made changes to the line up that started against Brazil which affected Dede Ayew. He sat on the bench but eventually made his way into the team into the game in the 82nd minutes. Dede Atew replaces Baba Iddrisu as Black Stars defeated Nicaragua by a lone goal.
Dede Ayew has represented Black Stars of Ghana at both junior and senior level. He has featured in World Cups and Africa Cup of Nations as Black Stars player. The son of Abedi Pele will lead Black Stars of Ghana into this year’s World as skipper.
