A former Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah has questioned how the New Patriotic Party is blaming NDC for orchestrating President Akufo-Addo’s humiliation at the Global Citizen Festival.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 26th September 2022, he wrote;
“NPP mistakenly takes many for fools; but Ghanaians are wide awake! How could NPP claim NDC orchestrated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s “away…” humiliation at the Independence Square? Ha ba!”.
The comments of Omane Boamah comes as a background to the booing recieved by President Akufo-Addo during the his speech at the Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, September 24, 2022. The crowd were heard chanting “away, away, away”, as soon as the President said the “whole world has come to Ghana”.
Following that, some NPP Communicators believe that, the whole idea was orchestrated by some NDC people. Dr Omane Boamah is of the view that, it was not ignited by NDC people. He believes that, the people were expressing their displeasure at hardships in the country.
