The former national organizer of the NDC, Yaw Boateng Gyan has reacted to the trending stories ‘surrounding’ Johnson Asiedu Nketia, general secretary of the party and the chairman of the party, Ofosu Ampofo. In an interview on Oyerepa Radio this morning, Yaw Boateng Gyan revealed that the NDC as a party needs both Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Ofosu Ampofo to help the party win power in 2024.
According to Yaw Boateng Gyan, both Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Ofosu Ampofo have a lot of followers. He believes that if one candidate loses in the internal elections, the supporters of that candidate may cause a lot of troubles for the party. He is therefore urging Asiedu Nketia and Ofosu Ampofo to come together and agree on certain conditions for the benefit of the party before 17th December, 2022.
“When they meet, one will surely lose. But we need both persons in the party to help us win the 2024 Elections. The two have served for long as executives of the party. They both have a lot of followers. However, if we don’t take care as a party and speak to the supporters of these two politicians, the party may be divided after the internal elections,” he said.

This comes after Asiedu Nketia, general secretary of the party openly revealed that he will be contesting for a higher position in the party. It is believed that Asiedu Nketia will be contesting for the chairmanship position. Chairman Ofosu Ampofoh has reacted to this and has made it clear that Asiedu Nketia will be defeated if he contest him for such position.
