Video: I Don’t Know Why But It Is The First Time Happening In Ghana – Bright Simons Serves Notice

Ghanaian entrepreneur, writer, social and political commentator, Mr. Bright Simons has reacted to the recent brouhaha between the NDC and the Electoral Commission.

The Electoral Commission has announced its decision to solely use the Ghana Card as the only means of registration for the Voter ID Card. This proposal by the EC has been condemned by members of the NDC. They believe that the EC wants to rig the 2024 elections for the governing New Patriotic Party.

Speaking on Newsfile show this morning, Bright Simons revealed that it is the very first time in Ghana’s history that the electoral commission is making a decision without the engagement of the stakeholders involved. He added that Jean Mensah’s EC has proved over the past few years to be dictatorial. He believes that the EC must always invite all stakeholders to come into consensus before they make any popular decision.

Electoral commissions come and go but this is the first time we’re having an EC who refuses to engage with stakeholders to come to a consensus on any matter of national interest, I don’t know why

“Anytime they bring an idea and people share their ideas on it, they brush them off. It does not make rational sense to use only the Ghana card to do the registration” he said.
