We Would Like To Go To The Funeral To Represent The Ga People -Ga Chief To British High Commissioner

Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral was recently organized in Accra and the Ga people put up a beautiful cultural display. After the display, a Ga Chief and his entourage were captured at the office of the British High Commissioner to Ghana making a humble request. If you watch the video carefully, you can see that the Ga Chief was sitting in a chair as one of his entourage was making this request.

The speaker for the Ga Chief was overheard in the video saying that the late Queen Elizabeth II has done a lot for the Ga people and His Royal Majesty (the Ga Chief) will like to attend the funeral in England. According to him, the Ga people are saddened by the death of Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Majesty will like to mourn her and pay his last homage in England.

This is what the Speaker for the Ga Chef was overheard saying to the British High Commissioner, “We are all saddened by the death of Queen Elizabeth II and we extend our condolences to the family of the late Queen. His Royal Majesty will also like to go to the funeral in the United Kingdom (UK) to represent the Ga people”.

Some Ghanaians after coming across this video said that they feel shy toward the Ga Chief. How can he lower his dignity to this level? People are invited to funerals, but they don’t plea to attend people’s funerals. Others said that if the British High Commissioner gives them visas to go to the funeral in the United Kingdom, the chief and his entourage might not return to Ghana again.
