The Chief of the Konkomba Communities in the Greater Accra Region, Abraham Urbor Bio III and his elders have stated that the primary intention of the leadership of the Konkomba community is to ensure promoting peace and unity to help protect the interest of the Konkomba residents in the Region.
It is also part of the leadership agenda to ensure that Konkomba communities smoke peace pipe with all tribes and citizens especially at their workplaces.
To enhance the developmental agenda of the country.
Hence the leadership of Konkombas after enstooling Ubor Ntebi Bewalti I on February 8 2021 find it appropriate to outdoor him to represent Konkombas at the Komkomba yam market.
Addressing a press conference to declare their intentions of fixing an outdooring date for the newly installed Chief Ubor Ntebi Bewalti I to fully represents them, the General Secretary of the Konkombas Yam Market Mr Anthony Tanyam denied the allegations in some quarters that the Konkomba Yam sellers don’t need representative at where they operate.
Mr Tanyam said the Market have 16 different tribes who operate at the area.
He said out of the number there are 15 tribes who have sub chiefs to represent their tribes expect the Konkombas who at the time of the press conference have no sub chief to represent them.
The General Secretary allegedly described as spurious the allegations that the intended outdooring of the Konkomba sub chief Ubor Ntebi Bewalti was aimed at imposing him to promote violence to disturb the peace of the traders.
And also to create unrest among the other tribes of the market.
The General Secretary further expressed worry that the alleged dangerous charges never took roots from any source but rather from some of their own tribesmen who operate at the market.
These tribesmen he said have been linking home issues to the yam marketing activities in Accra, which he noted were deliberate attempt to blackmail the Komkomba sub chief yet to be outdoored.
The General Secretary said it is not the desire of the leadership to disunite the people.
Instead it is expected that the subchief will liaise with the chiefs from the other tribes in the market to promote unity and peaceful coexistence of their people in the area. Â
Mr Tanyam made it clear that the enskinned sub-chief of Konkomba will not impose nor Lord his authority over any other chief or tribe as it has been peddled.
The Secretary urged Ghanaians especially the traders at the Konkomba market to not take people with negative thoughts at the market serious since their claims are unfounded.
The chief and his elders want the sub chief to champion the interest of Nkpakpaando and conduct himself appropriately to enhance the prestige of the Konkomba tribe, Tanyam observed.
We ask all persons with negative thoughts to stop their vile propaganda against the anticipated outdooring of the Sub Chief.
Since we are here to unite and develop Nkpakpaando and for that matter the country in general, the Secretary hinted.
Adding that as peace loving citizens they shall not entertain any destructive attitude within the market.
Expect that they would deemed it appropraite to report any suspicious characters to the law enforcement agencies for attention.
