Massive Reactions As A Lands Ministry Staff Has Been Jailed 15 Months For Fraud

Fraud means making false representations to amass personal or selfish gains. Usually, fraud is perpetuated to earn material or property benefits. What can the authorities do to make fraudulent activities unattractive?

A few minutes ago, UTV Ghana posted a picture of Mr Gabriel Sarpong, the lands ministry staff who was reportedly sentenced for impersonating the deputy minister of lands ministry, to aid illegal miners.

The convict was reportedly arrested on September 13 2022 on the instruction of Deputy Minister George Duker.

Why did the convict reportedly extort monies from alleged illegal miners to the tune of GHS200,000?

Are Ghanaians not excited that justice has been served? UTV Ghana’s post on the sentence of the lands ministry staff attracted massive reactions from the length and width of the country.

Is UTV Ghana’s viral post not serving as a notice of strong deterrent for persons who want to engage in fraudulent activities?

What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
