Julian Nagelsmann Has Said His Team’s Efficiency Made The Difference Against Barcelona.

Leroy Sane and Lucas Hernandez both scored goals, giving Julian Nagelsmann his second Champions League victory of the 2022–2023 season.

In 30 group games in the most prestigious club championship in Europe, Germany’s record winners are undefeated. Only Real Madrid, who accomplished it from 2012 to 2017, can match it.

Bayern has won 27 games while losing three, and they have already won their past nine group matches in a row, seven clean sheets.

Nagelsmann and his squad have consolidated a good Barcelona record, which has helped them to occupy the top of the table in Group C, two matches played with two consecutive victories, his team has kept a clean sheet in both matches and has scored four goals in the group.

Referee Danny Makkelie from the Netherlands ended the first half when both teams failed to score after the away team looked hungrier for a goal but failed to utilise the chance that came their way.

Ter Stegen made a save on a corner kick after Goretzka teed up outside the area in the 50th minute of the second half. He fired a strong shot while Ter Stegen dived to his right to deflect the ball to a corner kick.

The home crowd erupted after Lucas Hernández left his defence duties to get to the near post, beat the keeper to the ball and headed down into the net from a corner converted by Kimmich in the 50th minute.

After four minutes, after Bayern had taken the lead, Jamal Musiala, the game’s Most Valuable Player on Tuesday night, assisted Leroy Sané as he slalomed past the Barcelona defence. He severs the back line and explodes into the box. With Ter Stegen on the floor, he maintains his balance and rolls the ball home for a second time.

No goals were scored in the remaining minutes as Bayern secured a win. Bayern has now won each of their last five UEFA Champions League matches against Barcelona, as well as seven of their last eight meetings in the competition.

Nagelsmann, Bayern’s coach, talked to the press after the game and commented, “Barca had the better chances in the first half, we had to rely on Manu [Neuer]. In the second half, we defended much better, with more aggression. I was pleased with that. Then we scored an important goal from a set-piece and doubled up soon after. We were the better side in the second half, and Barca was better in the first. Today we showed the kind of efficiency we lacked against Stuttgart and Gladbach. That was key to the win in the end.”
