Kudus on Fire, Black Stars Players Excite In The Champions League.

The Black Stars will be taking on mighty Brazil in a friendly in a couple of weeks time. The Selecao have arguably one of the best keepers in the world, Allison Becker, who on Tuesday night picked the ball from the back of the net from a Kudus strike in a 2-1 loss at Anfield on tuesday night. Two years ago, Kudus suffered injury on his Champions league debut at the same venue that kept him out for several months.

On Tuesday night, he made amends, sharing the field with his idol, Thiago Alcantara. Mohammed Salah put Liverpool ahead in the 17th minute rounding off a fine move. Ten minutes later, Trent Alexander Arnold failed to pick up a run from Berghuis, he slipped the ball into the goal area, Kudus picked it on the turn and rifled a thunderbolt that crashed under the crossbar into Allison’s goal. Kudus looked dangerous throughout the game in his false 9 role which has yielded 5 goals in 4 matches so far. Kudus was taken off in the 84th minute and replaced with another potential Ghanaian in Brian Brobbey. Unfortunately Liverpool got the match winner in the 90th minute through a Matip effort from close range.

Elsewhere, the professor Denis Odoi and Kamal Sowah played full throttle for Club Brugge. The Fadama native Kamal Sowah scored the second goal for Brugge to effectively seal doom for Porto who were playing at home in a 4-0 demolition.

Jeremie Frimpong came on in the 69th minute for Bayer Leverkusen and run the show setting up both goals by Andrich and Diaby in the 84th and 87th minute respectively to down Atletico Madrid at home. Frimpong is still eligible to play for the Black Stars. Callum Hudson-Odoi also played full throttle for Bayer Leverkusen. Angsar Knauff also gave a good account of of himself as all German sides on Tuesday’s Champions league games recorded victories. His side, Eintrach Frankfurt won 1-0 away to Olympique Marseille. Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was an unused substitute in Sporting’s 2-0 victory over Totteham Hotspurs.
