I Still Look Up To Stonebwoy – Kelvyn Boy admits

Stonebwoy and Kelvyn Boy

Ghanaian musician Kelvyn Brown, better known by his stage name Kelvyn Boy has admitted to still emulating his former boss Stonebwoy as his inspiration despite the riffle between them.

Speaking to astute media personality Andy Dosty on Accra based Hitz Fm’s DayBreak Hitz Show on Monday, September 12 2022, the former protege of the Burniton Group indicated that he looked up to Stonebwoy musically and still does despite what has transpired between them leading to their annulment.

He also disclosed that he kept on dreadlocks because he wanted to look like the Bhim Nation’s president and also sound like him.

I really looked up to Stonebwoy. I still
look up to him. I had locks becauseI
wanted to sound and look like him” he
said.

Speaking about the reason behind the sudden cutting off his locks, the “Mea” singer said he woke up one fateful morning and just decided to get rid of it even though his management was not in support of his decision or action.

“Nobody advised me to cut my hair.
The people around me actually tried to
stop me. I just woke up one morning
and decided to cut my hair-and
people like it” he added.

Mr Kelvyn Brown (Kelvyn Boy) and the company (Burniton Group) entered into an agreement dated January 22, 2018, which, to a large extent, governed the relationship between both parties (the agreement).

The agreement had a initial term of 1 year and provided the of renewal for a further period of 4 years (the option).’

However, things got sour years after then making the two to engage at loggerheads since 2019, with both parties jabbing each other on social media.

The feud escalated when Kelvyn Boy was slapped by Bossu Kelly, Stonebwoy’s former bodyguard, for performing at a show in Ashiaman. Although Kelvyn Boy rendered a public apology on social media, Stonebwoy is adamant that that was just theatrics to court sympathy.
