The reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League Asante Kotoko are set to engage Belize men’s football team also known as Belize Jaguars.
Confirming the game through a press release, the Belize Football Federation revealed that, on Friday September 9, 2022. Asante Kotoko and the Belize Footballs Federation entered into agreement to play the game.
Asante Kotoko will visit Belize between 15 – 30 November 2022, to part take in an international friendly against the Jaguars of Belize.
Belize Football Federation noted that the game will not only go for sporting benefits, but also promote tourism and culture between Ghana and Belize.
Asante Kotoko are currently participating in CAF Champions League after winning 2021/22 Ghana Premier League. They have recorded a first leg victory over Burkina Faso club RC Kadiogo, making the return leg almost a done deal. The porcupine warriors will also be playing in the Ghana Premier League, as they have an outstanding game against debutant Nsuatreman.
On their part, Belize men’s footballers team are yet to qualify for FIFA World Cup. It once qualified for Concacaf Gold Cup in 2013, only to exit at the group stage.
