Bring Your Evidence If You Think I Promised You This – Majority Leader Serves Notice

The member of parliament for Suame Constituency, Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, who doubles as the Majority leader in parliament has sent a bold message to the people of Suame Constituency.

In an interview on Oyerepa TV this morning, the law maker revealed that he has never promised to construct the roads in the Suame Constituency. According to him, even though the roads are bad, he never promised the people that he is going to fix such roads. He urged the people to provide him with any evidence to show that he indeed promised to construct their roads.

I’ve not promised to construct roads for anyone; I don’t construct roads. Bring your evidence if you think I promised to construct your roads. Because I know my responsibility as an MP, and I’ve been telling my colleague MPs not to promise the public roads, so do you think I will stand somewhere and promise my people roads” he said.

Having said that he made it clear that he will do anything in his power and speak to government so that the roads get fixed.

According to him, he has always advised his fellow MPs to avoid making promises to their people that they will construct their roads for them. This is because, it is not the duty of an MP to construct roads and for that matter any MP that makes such promise will eventually fail them one day.

It could be recalled that on July 18, 2022, some angry artisans at the Suame Magazine hooted and pelted their Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu with sachets of water for failing to fix their roads. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has reiterated what he said earlier and has made it clear that he will serve the people well even though it is not his duty to construct their roads.
