Mannaseh Azure Writes – Dear Bank, We Are Tired Of This Drama

Popular Investigative Journalist, Mannaseh Azure Awuni has expressed his displeasure over poor banking services rendered to him. According to him, he urgently needed to send money to a medical student in Russia, but the transaction has delayed till now.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 9th September 2022, he wrote;

“A neighbour drew my attention to a medical student who was on the verge of being sacked from his school in Russia because of fees. He had no help from anywhere, and my neighbour thought the mental trauma he was going through could explode if he didn’t get support. 

 The fee was $3000 and my friend believed I could use my influence to help. I contacted three persons, who together donated the $3000. I paid for the charges of transferring the money and your bank did the transaction.”

Mannaseh explained that it was on August 17, 2022, and the deadline the school had given this young man was August 20. He said that he was busy that day so he made one of his colleagues and the friend of the medical student, who had contacted him for the support, go to the bank together. 

“A day or two after the transaction, when we thought the money was going to hit the account of the student, you (the bank) called my colleague to say he had exceeded the transfer he was entitled to make in a year on his dollar account.

Why did you not note this or told him why he came to send the money? He came to the bank and you offered to use another account to send it.The following week, you called him to say he needed to show more proof of the identity of the student.” Mannaseh lamented.

Mannaseh remarked that, he understand that, sending money to Russia is difficult because of the sanctions. But I expected you to have known the exact documents and necessary proofs that that were required.

“That proof was provided and you assured us he was going to get the money. As I type this, he has not got the money.

It has been almost impossible getting a coherent response from you. You later said the transfer had been rejected and that you were waiting for the transaction to be reversed so that you could give it to the sender, who wants to try using other banks. 

This week, they came to you and you’re still claiming it might be reversed by the end of the week. We’re tired of this drama.”
