Mahama And Bawumia Compete In Donation Towards The First Islamic School For The Blind

Former president John Dramani Mahama and his excellency the vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia have competed in monetary terms towards donations for the first Islamic school for the blind.

The project that have reached the 5th Phase, as the First Islamic School For the Blind Project in Ghana have received so much support from individuals and politicians.

The former president John Dramani Mahama in his part contributed Ghc20,000 to the Peace Dawa Foundation to finish the project. The vice President also promised the Peace Dawa media foundation an amount of money from the Zongo development funds to support the project.

The project was initiated and begun construction 14 months ago.

The project is targeting our Muslim brothers and sisters who are visually impaired and has no education but rather depend on begging for alms on the street

The First Islamic School For the Blind project is the first of its kind in Ghana since the country doesn’t have any Islamic school that caters the needs of the blind deaf and mute such as learning their religion,trade, secular education and worship.

The project when completed will be open to all diverse of religious fraternity and not only Muslims.

The First Islamic School For the Blind when completed will have a Masjid, Quran Memorization Center, Classrooms, Vocational Training Center, Secular Education Center, a Bay, Teachers Hall etc.
