Honorable Samuel Abu Jinapor paid a working visit to the Ghana Geological Survey Authority, one of the agencies under the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, to interact with the management and staff to understand their challenges and how we can work together to build our mining industry, respectively.
By its establishing law, the Ghana Geological Survey Authority Act, 2016 (Act 928), the Authority is responsible for, among others, promoting the search for, and exploitation of, minerals within the country, as well as undertaking research for the exploration, exploitation, and protection of our geological and geoscientific natural resources.Â
He thanked the management and staff for the work they are doing for the country. He hugely underscored the centrality of the work of the authority to the mining industry; for a robust mining industry revolves around effective and efficient geological investigations.Â
He pledged the commitment of the Government of President Akufo-Addo to address their challenges, retool the authority, and make them more efficient.Â
He concluded that it’s the quest of the Nana Addo-led administration to make Ghana the mining hub of Africa is unflinching and the Ghana Geological Survey Authority has a crucial role to play to make this a reality.
