Chelsea have officially announced the appointment of Coach Graham Potter as the head coach of the club for a duration of 5 years.
This comes after ex coach, Thomas Tuchel was sacked after communication with the new owners broke down.
With Graham Potter’s appointment, Chelsea are set to make another appointment in the name of the Director of Football.
It is believed that this will help shape the club’s football philosophy as well as offer a clear pathway for club academy graduates. The football director will also have a hand in negotiations and the identification of players for the club.
According to sources, potential candidates include Monaco’s sporting director as well as former PSG sporting director and ex Liverpool football director.
It is believed that the appointment will be done before the world cup later this year to allow the director some time before the opening of the transfer window in January.
Coach Graham Potter will hold his first training session today and will seek to improve the squad in the long term.Â
