Over mushrooms, a man butchers Palm Wine Tapper.

Kwame Obontia, a farmer in his late 30s, is accused of butchering Tetteh Sackey, a palm wine tapper in his mid-50s, at Nsata Kofi Asare in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.

According to a report on Oyerepa FM, the suspect committed the act over a miscommunication about mushrooms.

According to the story, the suspected criminal’s wife went to the palm wine tapper’s farm and uprooted his mushrooms.

Tetteh Sackey, the victim, then proceeded to his assailant’s house and inquired as to why the woman had gone to his property without permission.

This sparked a heated debate between the assailant (Kwame Obontia) and his victim.

Kwame, unable to control his rage, butchered his victim (palm wine tapper Tetteh Sackey).

The sufferer, who had suffered serious injuries, was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to the report, the suspect has been arrested and is being held in police custody.
