McBrown’s Liposuction: My take –

First off

Bloggers and comments! Why wouldn’t you just leave McBrown alone?! One may ask.

Sorry dear, we can’t leave her alone. That’s how we eat. This is our real estate business. Just as Wall Street stock brokers speculate on the movement of stocks and get paid, so do we bloggers. Celebrities like McBrown are the stocks. We’re the analysts and brokers. You, the reader, is the investor. It’s a whole economy on its own.

Nana Ama McBrown

She’s many things; actress, television show host, brand ambassador, social media personality, etc. In sum, she’s a screen “goddess”. McBrown is one of the few public figures in the entertainment spectrum who verily deserves the status “celebrity”. And she is.

She is a classic exemplification of the old and the new; she has transitioned from several phases of the entertainment ‘waves’, managing to stay relevant and full of lustre.

Both in terms in tradition and modernity, she’s got it all. Intellect, marriage, offspring, flourishing career, fame, money, and beauty. Yes beauty.

Very few women ever get this far. Very, very few.

The Lipo

Liposuction is a medical procedure that involves the removal of “excess” fat from the abdomen region. It’s an expensive procedure, but it is generally safe, with little known complications.

There’s a difference between lipo and butt lift, even though the two usually go together. Butt lift refers to increasing the “fat” at the butt area – usually the hips. Like wigs, butt lift also has a Brazilian name.

In the Case of McBrown

The celebrity has recently publicly declared that she has had liposuction, an announcement that many consider a bolder attempt that catching a live cobra.

This is because liposuction has earned a quite uncomfortable reputation due to the “shyness” of women who had previously gone for the procedure. This shyness has emboldened some people to slam the necessity of it anyway.

Many women, out of fear of public persecution, had claimed that their fine body shape was the result of diet and physical exercise.

McBrown, in her case, had said that it is close to impossible to achieve the desirable body shape through the diet and gym story people have been peddling.

My Take

I like McBrown’s openness and honesty. She has no interest in fake life and that makes her a trustworthy role model. Such are the personalities we need on social media, not those who do things to get what they have in secret, only to come and tell the youth that it is “hardwork”.

I believe that if the women who started liposuction had been forthcoming like McBrown, the negative social perception wouldn’t have gained roots.

When men hit the gym to gain good shape, no one complains. Yet, when women take efforts to get in shape, we roast them on coals. Why should it be so?
