His Excellency the former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama graced the 2022 edition of the Annual DAGAABA-FRAFRA fun games which came off after a 3 years break due to the Covid -19 pandemic at the El-Wak sports stadium.
The games are held annually to foster unity and peaceful coexistence between the two tribes.
The social gathering brought together dignitaries the current interior minister Ambrose Dery who witnessed the fun games and this brought together Dagaabas and Frafras within Accra and Tema metropolis to have some fun.
Yesterday’s games marked the 25th anniversary and it was also to discover talents among the youth who participated in games like football, basketball, volley, sack race, and tag of war, amongst others.
The games also afforded patrons to enjoy some local Dagaaba and Frafra delicacies such as tubabi, koose mixed with moringa leaves, dog meat, pork, tuo zaafi, pito, and a lot more.
Before the commencement of the game, Mahama spoke and indicated humorously to be the referee and patrons laughed at the comments made.
The football match between the two tribes resulted in a 4 nil defeat to the Frafrah’s and the Dagaabas were crowned Champions. Surprisingly, the ultimate trophy was a PUPPY which was handed over to a gentleman on behalf of the Dagaaba community.
