Black Stars Striker Inaki Williams Plays For His Club, Maintains Huge Record In Spanish La Liga

Black Stars Striker Inaki Williams defied all odds to feature for his club Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish La Liga this afternoon. After picking up an injury in their last league fixture, fears were that the Ghanaian international may not be able to play in subsequent matches which could rule him out of this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Iñaki Williams played for Athletic Bilbao. He continued with his indestructible streak. And Braithwaite debuts as a starter at Espanyol with just one training day. 

After suffering a sprained ankle last week, Iñaki Williams’ streak of playing in every La Liga match since April 20, 2016, was at risk. Today he started for Athletic Bilbao against Espanyol and makes it 237 consecutive appearances.

Inaki Williams ward off fears to play for Athletic Bilbao at home but his presence could not save his club from falling to Espanyol.

Inkai Williams had to be taken off the game in the 70th minutes.

It is yet to be revealed if his substitution was due to aggravating his injury or a technical one.

Inaki Williams is in line to receive a debut call up as Black Stars of Ghana are scheduled for a pre-World Cup friendly with Brazil.
