Ghana champions Asante Kotoko have arrived safely in Ghana from their pre-season tour of Sudan and, have declared themselves ready for the new season.
The Porcupines, landed at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Thursday morning after their tour of the North African country for the second phase of their pre-season program ahead of the start of the 2022/23 Ghana football season.
The record Ghana champions have no respite in their quest to do well next season as they are due to go into competitive action next week before the 2022/23 season starts in Ghana.
Asante Kotoko are scheduled to play Burkina Faso champions Rail Club de Kadiogo in an African Champions League preliminary round first leg qualifier on Friday, September 9, 2022.
The game will be played at the Stade de Yamoussoukro in the Ivory Coast after the Confederation of African Football, CAF, rejected the home venue of RC Kadiogo for this fixture.
The return fixture will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi a week later with Asante Kotoko looking to win this competition for the first time since 1983.
The Porcupines will also compete on the domestic front next season as they look to successfully defend the league title they won last season as well as mount an attack on the FA Cup trophy.
