A man called Kwabena Dutwum from Doyinam narrates how his daughter got pregnant after she went to school. According to the man, he sent his daughter named Ama to the Senior high school but he found out that his daughter is pregnant when she came home for vacation. He was surprised and also became sad because he wanted a better future for his daughter. Ama later revealed to him it was a man known as Osei who impregnated her.
The man said he took care of her till she gave birth but Osei only came to visit her few weeks after she gave birth, he apologize to him and even promised to marry the young lady in no time. Three months later Osei sent his family members to perform the naming ceremony of his grandson but the things they brought for the naming ceremony were not enough. Mr. Kwabena said his daughter called Osei to ask him why he brought those few things for the naming ceremony but he got angry and told her that she is ungrateful.
Months later, Osei informed his daughter that he is no longer interested in the marriage that he promised because she is ungrateful, so she can marry any man she wants. The man claimed that he even contacted Osei’s mother and asked her about this issue, she too confirmed that it is true that her son has taken that decision but she told him to have patience. They waited for him for more than a year but Osei didn’t fulfill his promise.
The man said because his daughter couldn’t complete school and fulfill her dreams due the pregnancy, he wants his daughter’s boyfriend to get married to her as he promised them. According to Ama, she met her boyfriend when she was in her second year in the senior high school and he promised to marry her. Osei even convinced her to give birth for him but after she got pregnant and gave birth, he didn’t fulfill the promise he gave her but rather told her that he is no longer interested in marrying her.
