Celia Danso and Felix Lartey win Table Tennis Homowo championship
Felix Lartey of the Westchester Table Tennis Club, USA and Celia Baah Danso of the Ghana Armed Forces emerged victors at the recently ended Homowo championship.
The one day event organized by the Gt. Accra Table Tennis Association was geared towards the celebration of the ‘Ga Homowo Festive’.
It also formed part of the association’s objective of unearthing talents and promoting the sport in the region.
Felix Lartey defeated Victor Smart 3-1 to win the men’s trophy.
Celia Baah Danso on the other hand beat her opponent, Eva Adom Amankwah 3-1 to clinch the women’s ultimate.
They both took home medals, certificates, trophies and cash prizes.
The Ghana team went to the Commonwealth Games in. Birmingham but could not win a medal much to chagrin of the the entire nation.
Ghana sent 101 athletes but only brought home five medals with boxing winning three and track and field winning the other two medals.
