CAF Women’s Champions League: Ghanaian Champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies Qualify For Semifinals

Ghanaian representative in WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League qualifiers Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC, have made it to the semifinals of the ongoing qualifiers in Yamoussoukro, Cote D’ivoire. Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC defeated Athleta FC by a lone goal to book a ticket for the last four of the qualifiers.

Mavis Owusu scores the only goal to separate the two sides. The two sides put in a maximum effort in the first half of the game but it ended in a goalless draw.

Following the resumption of the second half, Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Athleta gave remarkable displayed but it was the Ghanaian representative that had the advantage over their counterparts in the 72nd minutes.

Mavis Owusu connected a fantastic corner kick from Constance Agyeman to put his side into the lead.

The opening goal changed the dynamics for Ampem Darkoa Ladies as they controlled events and completed the game with their lone goal.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will be playing African Sports d’ Abidjan in the semifinals of the competition. The winner of this zone makes it to the main tournament in Morocco.
