Dennis Miracles Aboagye Left ‘Speechless’ After Female Host Boldly Debunked His Arguments

Dennis Miracles Aboagye is one of the emerging strong communicators of the ruling New Patriotic Party. He has now become one of the toughest debaters on political shows when he comes up against panelists from other political parties. For some weeks, Dennis’ pedigree is being compared to Sammy Gyamfi. The two have clashed on many political shows and have tried to out speak each other.

On TV3’s New Day today, Friday, August 26, 2022, Felix Miracles Aboagye joined Berla Mundi on The Big Issue. One of the first issues discussed addressed the E-levy after it was revealed that less than 7% of the intended revenue had been raised by July. According to Berla, this shows that Ghanaians are not happy with the electronic tax and there needs to be a review.

Dennis Aboagye however refused to accept this and said that Berla had no understanding of the E-levy taxation. He explained that it was wrong for Berla to have said that. Dennis also debunked the figures that Berla was using to say that only 7% of the revenue had been raised. According to Dennis he has been to the Ministry of Finance and they acknowledged that these figures are not right.

Berla then asked Dennis to bring out the right figures and this left Dennis trying to be on the defensive saying he cannot bring those figures but insists that Berla’s figures of the inflow of e-levy from May to July are wrong. Berla then told Dennis to be silent since he has no figures. She insisted that the information she presented is out for the public and Dennis can bring out a counter argument to challenge it.

It had been clear since the passing of the E-levy that Ghanaians were not willingly going to pay the tax. Even after it was passed, the inflows for the first month in May showed that the tax was failing. It has been 4 months and yet only 7% of the intended revenue has been raised.

Dennis denounced this claim though it is true. The e-levy has even started taking more because initially the levy was after the first 100 cedis but now even lesser amounts gets deductions. This most likely shows the desperate nature of the government and how a failure the tax has become.
