In times past, the Vice Presidential office was not given any specific role to play in government. They were often chosen as running mates to Presidential candidates and subsequently assume the position when the party wins the election.Â
It must be noted that those occupying the Vice Presidential office are not voted for but selected by their aspirants who won the presidential polls. Recently, they are selected as Heads Of The Economic Management Team and are looked up to for answers to issues affecting the economy.
The rantings of Kwesi Kyei Darkwah, an ace broadcaster on Joynews this morning is making waves across the length and breadth of the country. Answering questions from the host Benjamin Akakpo with explicitness, the gentleman popularly known as KKD raised serious concerns about the things going on in the country.
Speaking on Joynews Tv program-themed Show,’ KKD who appeared holding a rod posited that a time is coming whereby the vice presidential role wouldn’t be needed any longer.
According to him, that role is redundant, and all over the world, even in the United States of America and the UK, what do they do.? He added that as a country we are not doing what is needed.
