Dinatu Musa from Kunkunso in Nyinahin painfully narrates what happened after a man slept with her in a bush. In the woman’s narration, she stayed with her mother after their father died. Her mother struggled hard in their upbringing. Dinatu said she decided to travel to Kumasi and start working because of the hardship they were facing but her mother told her not to do that.
A few months later she ran away with a man who came to visit them to Kumasi to start working. The lady claims that the man bought a sewing machine for her and also gave her some money before she went back to the Northern region and started learning dressmaking with the sewing machine.
Dinatu said she met a man after he closed from work one evening, that man gave her a lift on his motor to her house but he rather sent her to a nearby bush and forced her to sleep with him. She became so sad about what happened to her because she was a virgin, she then informed her mother about what happened but the mother didn’t take any action against that man.
Dinatu said she again saw the man some days later, he apologize to her and also asked her to date him but she didn’t accept his proposal. Few days later, she had a dream about sleeping with a man. When she woke up, she saw some blood clots coming out of her private part. The lady said she was 20 years old at that time but her menstruation stopped flowing.
Her mother sent her to a herbalist for treatment still the menstruation didn’t flow again. Dinatu added that she began to have a discharge from her private part continuously and couldn’t sit down for so long because her underwear got wet within a short period. Months later she lost her sight and couldn’t see anything again.
Her mother again got some herbal medicine to treat her. Fortunately for her, she was able to see with only one of the eye. She got a job to do, saved her earnings and went to the hospital for treatment still she only see with one of her eyes. Dinatu said she needs help so that she can see again with the other eye which is blind.
