Stop The Propaganda, Before NDC Left Power, The Dollar Was Selling At GH¢ 4.30 And Not GH¢ 3.70

The General Manager of KNUST’s Focus FM who doubles as a morning show co-host for Nhyira FM, Nana Jantuah, has asked people to stop the propaganda which claims that the dollar was less than 4 cedis before NDC handed power to the NPP.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Monday, 22nd August 2022, he wrote;

“Before NDC left power, the DOLLAR was selling at GHC 4.30p and not GHC 3.70p. Kindly stop that PROPAGANDA too.”

The comments of Nana Jantuah comes in wake of the depreciating cedis to the dollar which has seen 1 dollar closely equivalent to GH¢10.

Following that many Ghanaians have expressed their disappointment at the ruling NPP government that even before Mahama handed over to Akufo-Addo in 2017, the cedi to dollar rate was GH¢ 3.70. Nana Jantuah want to dispute that fact that it was rather GH¢ 4.30.

A user wrote;

“The dollar was 3.90 before the elections and was 4.20 during the handing over, it was lower at the Banks, the 4.20 was the street value. So let us all try and be cautious at how we present the other side.”

“Even if it was 4.30, what we’re experiencing today shouldn’t have happened after the names calling by the so called better managers of the economy to the Mahama administration, period.They tricked us big time.” Another user added.

Some also said that it is true but a dollar exchange at 10 cedis is unacceptable to Ghanaians.
