Accra Hearts Of Oak Announce The Signing Of Eric Esso, Player To Compete For Regular Position

Accra Hearts of Oak have announced the signing of midfielder Eric Esso from Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold. The two parties have agreed to a three year deal after weeks of negotiations.

Eric Esso emerged a transfer target for Accra Hearts of Oak following remarkable performances for AshantiGold in the Ghana Premier League. He was a key midfielder for the miners, contributing immensely to their stay in the elite league until their demotion to Division Two.

At Accra Hearts of Oak, Eric Esso, brother of former Accra Hearts of Oak striker Esso, will be competing with other players for position. Eric Esso could be deployed as a central midfielder or defensive midfielder, depending on the system and approach of head coach Samuel Boadu.

Per his favorite position, Eric Esso is set to compete the likes of Gladson Awako, Suraj Seidu, Asiedu, Daniel Kodie and Mamani Lawali for playing time.

His addition brings stiff competition for himself and the available players which inures to the benefit of the team.

Accra Hearts of Oak will be playing in 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup, Ghana Premier League and FA Cup. Before they participate in these official matches, they have some off-season games to honor, starting tomorrow.
