Two people arrested for the death of a Ghanaian taxi driver

Two men have been charged by the New York Police Department (NYPD) in relation to the killing of a city cab driver.

According to reports, 20-year-olds Austin Amos and Nicholas Porter surrendered themselves in.

They face charges for theft, homicide, and gang violence among others.

The three further suspects are still being looked for, according to the NYPD.

Outside of their house in Co-Op City, in the Bronx, CBS2’s Natalie Duddridge spoke with the grieving family of the taxi driver.

It was quite sentimental. The New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers attended a press conference in support of Kutin Gyimah’s wife, who sobbedly stated that her husband was her support system and soul mate, and that she wants justice for him.

Meanwhile, the NYPD has made available fresh security footage that purports to show 52-year-old Gyimah being assaulted in Far Rockaway early on Saturday by five other passengers who, according to the investigation, refused to pay their money and attempted to rob him.

He suffered significant brain damage as he fell to the ground and banged his head; he eventually passed away.

“My spouse was everything we had; he was a good man. He was a hero to our kids. Just like that, his life was taken from him. We want justice to be done, so I am them to come forward. stated Mrs. Gyimah.

According to reports, the Federation of Taxi Drivers has contributed $130,000 to help the family.
