To believe in a course is right and one’s own volition which might be beneficial to that individual. However, to perish in the line of duty, would be disadvantageous to the family of that person, especially the parents who would have to bear the pain.
Ibrahim Diallo, a youth who believed in the ideologies of the National Front For The Defense Of The Constitution(FNDC) group, responded to the call of duty to demonstrate together with other members and this was blatant defiance of the order of the Junta.
This group is mostly thought to incite the youth to cause chaos during protest hence the transitional government dissolved it and issued a stern warning to the key members and participants, to abstain from further provocations which would be met with an equal response.
Lo and behold, they stormed the streets yesterday to demonstrate and the unimaginable happened. Some people sustained various degrees of injuries when they engaged the security forces in a serious confrontation.
Sadly, Ibrahim and another youth were gunned down and the parents are grieving with a heavy heart the loss of their child. The mother seems to be in excruciating pain because the boy is his only son and exclaimed “they took my only son from me.”
