The former deputy information Minister in John Mahama’s administration, Felix Ofosu Kwakye has sent a word of advise to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In an interview on Good Morning Ghana show with host, Randy Abbey, Mr. Felix Kwakye clearly stated that the vice president should not think of becoming the flag bearer of the NPP or the next president of Ghana.
“If Dr. Bawumia has any honour, he should not put himself up for elections. Oh yes, maybe you will go and elect him. I pray for that day. I pray for his emergence as leader of the NPP because at the moment, it appears to me that his only utility is for the NPP to say that they have been able to elect a non-Akan as their flag bearer. Beyond that he carries no utility”
According to Felix Ofosu Kwakye, the vice president has proved to be the worst leader of the economic management team in Ghana’s fourth republic. He added that the vice president called the other vice presidents names because they couldn’t work to the expectations of Dr. Bawumia.
“He called other people names. He attacked the economic management team under the NDC. Did he not project himself as having scholar credentials. If he delivers such abysmal and horrible performances, should anybody tolerate him on the ticket of a serious political party. They can go and elect him”
“There are four people who preceded him as head of the economic management team. His outcome is the worst amongst them. The facts we have are the worst we have since the beginning of the fourth republic. His impact on the Ghanaian economy has been useless. No impact of whatsoever. In any serious government, he himself should have resigned”

It is quite clear that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be contesting for the flag bearer position alongside Alan Kyeremanten, Kennedy Agyapong and other individuals. Many believe that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be a perfect leader for the country. Others think otherwise as they believe that his main work as leader of Ghana’s economy has failed.
In my opinion, the vice president is capable of handling the affairs of the country. He has proved to be the best vice president in the fourth republic. Ghanaians can see the kind or work is he doing for the country in terms of digitization.
