The Northern Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Alhaji Issah Mobilla is reported dead following some illness.
The Regional Chairman is said to have died at Tamale Teaching Hospital on Tuesday afternoon after battling with illness for some time at the Intensive Care Unit of the facility.
The Regional Chairman, who is also a Chief at a nearby Community is a popular person in the Region.
Hid death is a blow and a painful one at that, considering the fact that, he is seen as an integral part of the NDC quest to win political power in the 2024 crucial elections.
The late Regional Chairman has a very good relationship with former President John Mahama as he always visits him whenever he goes to the Northern Region.
Also, the Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Hon. Haruna Iddrissu is also another person who is very closed to the late Regional Chairman.
